I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?    
I chose UA Family Medicine because it is the leader in Integrative Medicine, implements the 2x2 curriculum, and the residents convinced me it was a supportive program for personal and professional development.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?    
I’m most excited about the sunshine all year round!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?    
I love playing and watching soccer, going on scenic hikes, and reading novels.
What are your professional interests within medicine?     
My professional interests are Integrative Medicine and Sports Medicine.
Favorite way to spend a day off?    
Go explore nature, which is so easy to do in Tucson!

The amazing team of individuals I get to work with here, the Integrative Medicine curriculum, and the focus on underserved populations!
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?  
All of the outdoor activities and finding new restaurants in the first Capital of Gastronomy in the U.S.!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?    
Pickleball, Tennis (i.e. any racket sport), hiking, Yelp, music
What are your professional interests within medicine?  
Integrative Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Healthcare to Underserved Populations, Global Health.
Favorite way to spend a day off?    
Going on a new adventure with family and friends

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
Because of the diverse population being served, the integrative program, the full spectrum education, and the friendly people that are part of this program.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
The food, culture, the outdoor activities (including the 5-10 degrees cooler than Phoenix weather), and the community.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?
Spending time with my family, being outdoors, playing soccer and volleyball, sports cars, and Netflix.
What are your professional interests within medicine?
I’m interested in preventive and integrative medicine, procedures, and working in underserved populations.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Dinner and movies with family and friends, car ride/traveling, or just relaxing.

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?    
UA’s commitment to culturally competent care for our diverse surrounding communities, opportunities to study integrative medicine, and focus on resident wellness checked off all my boxes. I had so much fun during my interview and felt like everything fit together like puzzle pieces.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?    
Exploring the great outdoors! I am new to hiking and am already hooked on Tucson’s beautiful trails. One time I spotted a Gila monster passing on by. I’m looking forward to my first javelina sighting!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?    
Powerlifting, yoga, and Peloton
What are your professional interests within medicine?     
Advocacy, sports medicine, integrative medicine
Favorite way to spend a day off?    
Taking an early morning hike followed by coffee and brunch. I also love to blast upbeat music to sing along to while I clean the apartment with Fabuloso.

Where are you from?     
I am from San Diego, California
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?    
I chose this program as during my time at the UA medical school I was continually impressed by the commitment to underserved populations as well as providing truly holistic care to their patients. In addition, I enjoyed witnessing the support residents had in their professional and personal growth.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?    
Now that I am going to be spending a few more years in Tucson I’m excited to spend time hiking and eat more good food!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?    
One of my favorite activities is to try different restaurants to discover new foods. I also love spending time cooking and baking with my friends and family. When the weather isn’t so hot I enjoy the beautiful hiking here though staying home with Netflix is equally as awesome.
What are your professional interests within medicine?     
Integrative medicine, working with underserved populations and the intersection of preventative medicine and mental health.
Favorite way to spend a day off?    
My favorite thing to do on a day off is to have a nice brunch and talk with friends or go for a nice drive in the Tucson mountains.
Top item on your "Bucket list"?
To go on a road trip across the US and visit all the National Parks

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?    
Tucson has a unique combination of a variety patient population in a general, friendly small town feel. The staff at UA FCM were the happiest I met, and UAFCM program offered the training I desired.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?    
Meeting others, their background, cultures, and lifestyles both as patients and people
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?
Music, crafts, and theorycrafting. It is fun to dive into new hobbies and appreciate how others may see the world.
What are your professional interests within medicine?
Sports medicine, full spectrum medicine
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Spending time with the wife and dog

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I am interested in the full-spectrum family medicine training that this program provides. I am very excited about the opportunities to train in integrative medicine. The program faculty are committed to training excellent physicians in a supportive environment that encourages resident wellness.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
I am looking forward to being closer to my family in Tucson and getting to spend time with them. I love the U of A, and I’m excited to go to sports games again. I’m also very excited to enjoy all of the great food in Tucson, go to my favorite restaurants, and try new places that I haven’t been to before!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?
I love to cook and spend time with friends and family. I like to hike and spend time outdoors. I play the drums, and I am very excited that I got my drums set up in my new place.
What are your professional interests within medicine?
Addiction medicine, integrative medicine, working towards bringing medical care to underserved populations and breaking down barriers to care that exist for marginalized people.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
My perfect day off would include going on a hike, followed by brunch, and relaxing with friends by the pool.
Top item on your "Bucket list"?
Travel, travel, travel. My top “must see” countries right now are Ireland, Spain, Thailand, and New Zealand.

Where are you from?

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?    
Everyone was very supportive on my interview day, and I could tell that I would be in a group of like-minded individuals who care about their patients, and each other. I also value that there is focus on providing care to the underserved, integrative medicine, and the 2+2 curriculum.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?  
All the great hiking and delicious food!  
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?    
Horseback riding, cooking and baking, gardening, and hanging with my cats.
What are your professional interests within medicine?     
Preventative medicine, care for the underserved, integrative medicine, rural medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care.

I am really drawn to UA Family Medicine’s strong focus on integrative medicine, commitment in serving the underserved, and training in full spectrum medicine. I also really liked the 2+2 aspect of the Alvernon track.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?    
Meeting new people, enjoying the warm weather, and outdoor activities
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?  
I love going on adventures whether it’s traveling around the world, sampling foods from different cultures, or exploring the outdoors via hiking. I also enjoy playing board games with friends.
