Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I wanted a program where I would be exposed to diverse populations. UA Family Medicine through its clinics offers just that. I also love the option of being able to learn medical Spanish during residency.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
I am excited about the calmness and peacefulness of Tucson that will help alleviate stress associated with residency.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I love to bake pastries, cakes and pies. I also love singing and dancing.
What are your professional interests within Medicine?
I am interested in medical missions, and I currently organize an annual medical outreach in Africa.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Trying out a new recipe and sharing it with family.

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I was drawn to UA Family Medicine from the start because of its strong commitment to the community and underserved populations. During my interview, I felt a genuine sense of community. The residents were kind and genuinely supportive of each other, and the faculty felt approachable and truly invested in the growth of their residents. Ultimately, I chose UA Family medicine because it felt like just the right fit. Through this program, I know it will allow me to grow into the well-rounded, compassionate, and community-centered physician I strive to be. (Also, coming from Las Vegas, the dry heat was also a big plus for me!)
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
All the sunshine, the sunsets, and learning about the many cultures within the city.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I enjoy going to different cafes and checking out the vibes, (window) shopping, relaxing, and watching reality tv and movies (thrillers).
What are your professional interests within Medicine?
Community medicine, Preventative and integrative medicine, working with Spanish speaking patients
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Spending time with loved ones, watching reality tv/movies, going outside to get some sun and fresh air.
Top item on your "Bucket list"?
Own a few acres of land and have a few farm animals (horses, cows, and chickens).

Grew up in various places in the Midwest – but mostly in Iowa.
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I wanted to continue my medical training in the Southwest at a program with ample resources and support that served a diverse patient population. As a 4th year medical student, I completed my Sub-I here, and knew the program was a good fit for me.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
Exploring nearby parks and trails and taking advantage of the “winters” in Tucson.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I enjoy watching movies, the NBA / college basketball, and travel shows.

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
After living in Maine for four years I was definitely looking for some sunshine and a change of pace! Everyone was so kind and inviting during my interview and I feel like the program strengths of sports medicine, global health, integrative medicine, and serving the underserved aligned well with my own values and career goals.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
Mild winters, monsoon season, dancing, mountain biking, camping, and sun!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I love any outdoor activity including but not limited to soccer, frisbee, hiking, camping, skiing, biking, and coffee walks or drinks with friends. I am excited to start line-dancing in Tucson.

Sports medicine, global health, integrative medicine, women’s health, advocacy.
Favorite way to spend a day off?
Sleep in, breakfast, TV, and weight-lift in the morning, then spend time with friends in the afternoon, and facetime family in the evening.

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I chose UA Family Medicine because I was impressed with the faculty and residents that I worked with during my audition rotation. The program had such a welcoming environment and everyone I met was so kind. I also enjoyed the diverse patient population that UA Family Medicine serves and look forward to engaging with the community throughout my residency.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
I am excited to get a break from the Midwest winters and have sunshine year-round!
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, golfing, and catching up on all of my reality TV shows while lounging on the couch with my dog!

After sleeping in of course, I like to spend time with my husband and dog and try new coffee shops in the area.

I’m from Iowa originally, but lived in Colorado for 8 years prior to moving to Tucson
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I am really passionate about global health and helping underserved populations, and this program had everything I wanted, with the Global Health Track, Spanish Language/Healthcare Disparities Track, Integrative Medicine, Refugee Health, and more. I’m excited to work with faculty and residents who are excited about all the same things and who are committed to providing excellent patient care to diverse populations. I was really drawn to how kind and friendly everyone was during my interview, and the 2+2 curriculum as well.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?
Having lived in colder climates my entire life, I am really excited about the beautiful (and warm) winters with no snow! I love Tucson and am excited for the endless options for great good, especially the Mexican food. Both Tucson and Arizona in general have tons of natural beauty that I can’t wait to explore!

Traveling, reading, cooking, baking, gardening, watching sports (basketball, football, and hockey mostly), yoga, swimming, hiking

At least the top 5 things are travel destinations, so I would say: travel! Some of the top destinations that I want to get to are Japan, Thailand, Kenya, New Zealand, and Costa Rica.
