Tom Brysacz

Career Story: 

Full-time clinical practice since residency; first 6 years in Phoenix, then Tucson ever since. Practiced with Ed Schwager (Class of 1986) from 1993 to 1995, and then loosely w/ Brad Barnett (Class of 1986) from 1995 till present, and as a partner w/ Mike Moynihan (Class of 1986) since 1998. Did deliveries from 1987 till 1999. Practice w/ my 2 partners and a nurse practitioner as an affiliate of a 110-physician group called Arizona Community Physicians. Taught med students 2001-2006

Notable Personal Accomplishments: 

Surviving a bitter divorce and yet raising 2 pretty smart, well-adjusted kids. Jumping into second marriage w/4 younger kids and making it work. Surviving a grizzly encounter and storm on Shoshone Lake, Yellowstone.

Notable Professional Accomplishments: 

President Arizona Academy Family Physicians 1996; getting privileges for OB at 6 different hospitals; setting up own practice (w/2 partners) in 1998 and staying in business since then.

Favorite Recreational Activity: 

Hiking/backpacking/camping, snowboarding, canoeing/kayaking and travelling

Favorite Memory from Residency: 

Fondest residency memories are hiking up Rincon Peak w/ Craig Mcclure and some friends, and middle-of-the-night call-room "skits" w/ Maureen Oskandy playing Yoda to my Obie-wan-kanobie

Personal Story: 

Happily married to Patricia. Have 2 "grown" kids. Ben is a first-year law student at Stanford who took a year off after undergrad to work on Capitol Hill. Alexandra studies Psychology at Pima Community College. Also have 4 stepkids living at home (ages 13-18).
