Tamsen "Tammie" Bassford

Career Story: 

I remained with the department after residency, have done women's health research, was the associate dean for student affairs, and worked with Larry Moher co-directing the Social and Behavioral Sciences course for the College of Medicine. Now I am the department head for Family and Community Medicine. I practice at our University Physicians Healthcare Hospital at the Kino location. My current academic focus is with the department's University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

Notable Personal Accomplishments: 

Mark and I had a great reverse mid-life crisis- our parenting began in our early forties!

Notable Professional Accomplishments: 

It has been a real privilege to work with the Department of Family and Community Medicine faculty and staff, and facilitate their passionate teaching, service, and research.

Favorite Recreational Activity: 

Anything that involves hanging out with my family. We spend a lot of time attending my daughter's various sporting events.
