Nicolette Barbour, MD

Where are you from?
Cleveland, Ohio
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?
I chose UA FM because of their focus on full spectrum family medicine and the supportive yet challenging learning environment cultivated by the faculty and staff. However, what differentiated the program for me was it’s dedication to serving the surrounding community. We spend a good amount of time truly getting to know the community and reaching out to our community partners so that our patients have access to a variety of resources. Coming from inner-city Cleveland, I wanted to join a program that served a diverse community and not only sought to understand and treat the patient’s pathology, but also their social determinants of health. This is a strong academic family medicine program with a population health focus. With public health as my first career, I instantly felt at home joining the UA Tucson family!
