After graduation I was hired with Seattle Primary Physicians, a group of about 30 family docs in 6 clinics. Soon after we merged (were taken over?) by the Polyclinic, a Seattle-based multispecialty group of about 150 docs. I've worked part-time (2-3 days per week) since graduating, and have done OB throughout that time as well.
Going back to work after maternity leave, twice.
#1 Meeting a classmate who would become a best friend on the first day of ACLS training. #2 Being the night float while 36 weeks pregnant. #3 Learning to knit #4 Riding the ambulance with my multiparous Somali patient who thought she was supposed to see me in clinic when ready to deliver. We did make it to L&D.
I'm married to Greg Johnson. He also trained at U of Arizona and now practices Emergency Medicine with North Sound Emergency Medicine in Everett, WA. We have two wonderful boys, Jake (born at UMC 3/06) and Drew (born 1/09).
