Francisco Gomez, MD

Where are you from? Edinburg, TX
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine? I chose the University of Arizona because I had a great interview day experience. It was clear that both the faculty and residents have great attitudes about learning/teaching and really strive to push the boundaries of our profession! The program also highlighted a number of opportunities to work with the underserved and advocate for them, which is very important to me.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson? The seemingly endless hiking opportunities, amazing food options, and the 360-degree picturesque views.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine? I love playing just about any genre of music on drum set, dabbling on guitar/bass, and producing/engineering music on my computer. I also love hanging out with my wife and cooking for her!
What are your professional interests within Medicine? Care of the underserved, identification of barriers to healthcare, preventative medicine and management of chronic disease.
Favorite way to spend a day off? Watching Netflix with my wife, turning on all my guitar pedals and making weird noises, and catching up on podcasts.
Top item on your "Bucket list"? Having an above average cup of coffee in Melbourne, Australia.
