Diana Olivas, MD

Career Story:

I attended the University of Arizona and received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature. After undergrad, I worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters before attending The University of Iowa for medical school. After med school, I decided it was time for warmer climates once again and headed back west for residency. I was lucky enough to find the perfect program for me in Tucson, AZ. I was drawn to The University of Arizona Family Medicine Program for its friendly people, the camaraderie between its residents, the opportunity to work with a diverse population, as well as its integrative approach to medicine. After residency, I took a faculty position in Rapid City, SD.

Favorite Recreational Activity:

When not at the hospital, I like to go salsa dancing, hiking, running, spending time with my family, and enjoying delicious food.

Personal Story:

I was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Tucson when I was eight years old. As much as I wish to claim the sunny beaches of California as my hometown, it is with great pride I claim Tucson as my home.
