Matthew Prevost, MD

Academic / Professional Bio:

Where are you from?

Marquette, Michigan

Why did you choose UA Family Medicine?

I chose UA Family Medicine because I was looking for a strong, full-spectrum FM curriculum that would prepare me to care for both urban and rural populations. I also wanted a program with solid exposure to sports medicine. Just as important, my fiancée is from Arizona, and we were both excited about the opportunity to be closer to her family.

What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?

I’m excited about the culture and food scene as well as being able to enjoy the beautiful terrain that Arizona has to offer. I am an active outdoor enthusiast and Tucson is a great place to live the lifestyle I enjoy.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine?

I enjoy weightlifting, hunting, fishing, woodworking, mountain biking—pretty much anything that keeps me active. I also like spending time at breweries, getting out on the water, or just hanging with my dachshund, Winston.

What are your professional interests within Medicine?

Full-spectrum Rural Medicine and Sports Medicine

Favorite way to spend a day off?

My favorite way to spend a day off is getting a good workout in, walking my dog, spending some quiet time with God, and enjoying the afternoon with my fiancée—whether we’re watching a movie or out sightseeing.

Top item on your "Bucket list"?
