Founded in 2005, The Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery is a not-for-profit organization that provides training, consultation, and program activities to support the wellness and recovery journeys of individuals, with its foundation on the evidence based practice of WRAP® - Wellness Recovery Action Planning.

WRAP® is a personalized wellness and recovery system born out of and rooted in the principle of self-determination. WRAP® is a wellness and recovery approach that helps people to: 1) decrease and prevent intrusive or troubling feelings and behaviors; 2) increase personal empowerment; 3) improve quality of life; and 4) achieve their own life goals and dreams. Working with a WRAP® can help individuals to monitor uncomfortable and distressing feelings and behaviors and, through planned responses, reduce, modify, or eliminate those feelings. A WRAP® also includes plans for responses from others when an individual cannot make decisions, take care of him/herself, and/or keep him/herself safe.

The State of Michigan has partnered with the Copeland Center to provide Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator Training and a re-certification for existing Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators. Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators implement WRAP Facilitator Training creating sustainable WRAP program throughout the State of Michigan. The WRAP® Facilitator Training is five intensive days of workshops that prepares participants to facilitate WRAP® classes and equips them with the skills and materials to facilitate classes in your community and organization. It is a follow up for people who have completed Seminar I WRAP® Courses. The WRAP® Facilitators course is an experiential learning environment based on mutuality and self-determination. Participants in this course will be expected to participate in interactive learning activities and demonstrate their own experience with WRAP. This training is appropriate for anyone who would like to lead Mental Health Recovery and WRAP groups, work with others to develop their own WRAP and to give presentations on mental health recovery related issues to groups or organizations.
