Academic / Professional Bio:

Where are you from? I grew up in Phoenix and Prescott. I love the southwest with its desert colors, beautiful skies, mountains and wide open spaces. There are also so many opportunities and cultural diversity that make this a wonderful place to live.
Why did you choose UA Family Medicine? I felt that the residents were kindred spirits. We got along great and I knew I’d love working with and learning alongside them. Residents, staff and faculty also nurture a positive and supportive educational environment. I knew I would receive the broad and thorough training I needed, and educational innovation and responsive leadership were strong points. The program also demonstrates a commitment to innovation in healthcare delivery and an emphasis on integrative medicine which will enrich my training.
What are you most excited about for life in Tucson? Tucson is my home and I am so excited to continue making new connections throughout residency. There are still tons of restaurants and nature spots I have yet to experience as well.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of Medicine? I like to cook, especially trying out new ways to prepare veggies and use herbs and spices. Alternately I love visiting breweries and donut shops. I enjoy relaxing at home with family and my pup Louie, as well as running and weightlifting.
What are your professional interests within Medicine? I am interested in improving healthcare quality while reducing unnecessary costs. I am also passionate about a holistic approach in medicine, working with patients on disease prevention through lifestyle modification.
Favorite way to spend a day off? I like to sleep in, have a workout, order food and watch funny Netflix shows while snuggling with my pupper.
