Academic / Professional Bio: 

Dr. Ravi Grivois-Shah currently serves as Associate Professor with the UA Department of Family and Community Medicine. As Medical Director of its Alvernon Clinic, he is committed to practice transformation and in moving the system closer towards a patient-centered medical home. Dr. Grivois-Shah works with residents and students on the in-patient service at the Banner - University Medical Center South, and the maternal-child service at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson.

As a practicing physician, Dr. Grivois-Shah has done it all in full spectrum primary care: providing services to patients from the start of life to end of life, delivering babies, HIV medicine, in-patient care, faculty for residents and medical students, and office procedures from colposcopies and endometrial biopsies to toe nail avulsions and minor skin procedures.

Passionate about family medicine and primary care advocacy, he served as a Director of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), which represents over 110,000 family physicians, residents, and medical students.

Dr. Grivois-Shah finished his MPH in 2011 from UIC, and is passionate about public health advocacy. He was a Commissioner for the Oak Park Board of Health, leading the way on bicycle safety, advocacy, and promotion. He joined PERRO, LVEJO, RHA, SEIU, and the IAFP to protect patients and communities in Chicago’s SW side from coal plant pollution.
