Our Mission

2017 alumni, Naomi Young, MD, currently practicing full spectrum family medicine and serving as Chief of Staff in her home town of Ft. Defiance AZ on the Navajo Reservation.

Our program is committed to training full-spectrum family physicians from diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to social justice, health equity, and providing care for populations and communities in rural and underserved areas of Arizona and beyond.

Meeting our mission

Graduates over the last 3 years:

  • 48% are in rural practice in North America
  • 96% practice in health care professional shortage areas in the North America
  • 80% practice multi-spectrum Family Medicine
  • 75% of our global health track graduates continue to serve globally

National  Rural Training Track Collaboration Recognition for the last 3 years

  • One of less than 20 FM Residencies nationally recognized for having >35% of graduates in the last 3 years practicing in rural areas
