Why did you choose South Campus FM residency?
I chose South Campus FM residency because they offer full-spectrum family medicine training with both rural and urban underserved populations. It also offers a nice balance between community and academic medicine. Above all, this program allows me the chance to return to rural Arizona and train in the environment I want to be in.

What do you love most about Tucson?
The nighttime sky

Tell us about your family (including pets!)
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Dee, for 14 years. We have two awesome children - SummerRain and Deslin - and we have a dog named Macho Norman. Our free time together usually revolves around soccer, hiking, movies, Minecraft and Nerf wars. We look forward to lots of sunshine, building our arsenal of water guns and exploring the mountains surrounding Tucson.

1: I lived in Arizona for 18 years and have never been to the Grand Canyon.
2: I have no middle name.
3: I love shopping for school supplies!

I chose this residency because I loved the training tracks and the patient population. Also, the residents I met were very nice and personable!

What do you love most about Tucson?
I love the mountains, the mix of palm trees and cacti, and the relaxed vibe of the city :)

1: My family is from El Salvador and I love to go visit them and also travel to other Central American countries!
2: I was born in Brooklyn, New York.
3: My favorite vacation spot is the beach

I chose the South Campus FM residency because I liked the environment I encountered during my interview. The attendings and fellow residents had a very good relationship and I saw myself being a good fit in this resident culture.

What do you love most about Tucson?
It reminds me of my hometown Albuquerque and it has good food options.

Married to my beautiful wife, Pheba John. We have a son, David John.

Tell us some fun facts about you!
1: Fan of basketball
2: I like going to the airplane museum with my son. A passion shared by both of us.
3: First person in my family to go into the medical field.

Why did you choose South Campus FM residency?
I feel like this residency was going to prepare me to be the best and most well rounded family medicine doctor. I really like the emphasis on rural and underserved populations. Plus, the residents and faculty are great!

What do you love most about Tucson?
I love the accessibility to the outdoors and the personality of many of the local areas. Monsoons make the summer bearable!

My wife, Jamie is a medical student here at the UACOM and we have a ridiculously fluffy dog named Scout.

1: I raised pigs growing up
2: I was a professional water ski and snow ski instructor before medical school
3: I am an avid fan of garlic bread

Why did you choose South Campus FM residency?
South Campus is a great program with excellent, inviting faculty and residents who I was able to work with in my 4th year of medical school. I also love the rural focus, learning environment, and culture of the program.

What do you love most about Tucson?
I love the outdoors and hiking around Tucson, Southwestern culture, and all the different types of amazing food here. Having my family so close by is an added bonus!

I moved back here with my wife Jessie and our 4-year-old hound dog mix Brin. My parents live in Vail and I have three older brothers.

Tell us some fun facts about you!
1: I love rock climbing, but don’t always have time for it.
2: I’ve recently picked up playing the ukelele.
3: Ever since a bad basketball injury, my pinky finger extends a lot further than it should.

My wife Lily is a woodworker and loves hiking and camping. My daughter Leila loves to dance, bake cakes, play violin and piano; our dog Jessie likes to catch her freezbie and chase after lizards.
