MethOIDE, funded in part by the Arizona Board of Regents, is a collaborative project of The University of Arizona, Department of Family and Community Medicine; The University of Arizona, College of Medicine -- Phoenix, in partnership with Arizona State University; and numerous community experts in Arizona specializing in drug-related health care, treatment, and prevention.
The website for MethOIDE includes:
- An Information Center that provides background and health-related information about various illicit drugs and their use. Video presentations, downloads, and links to useful resources are included.
- CE/CME courses that are short courses for health professionals and other individuals who would like to obtain continuing education credit. Course registration is required to access course materials and receive certification.
- A section on Policy Research that considers the impact of methamphetamine suppression policies on health issues such as hospital admissions, drug treatment demand, and routes of drug administration.
- Data reports that focus primarily on drug trends in Arizona. For example, they include reports on drug-related hospital admissions in Arizona, as well as Arizona-based multi-indicator drug reports provided to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Community Epidemiology Work Group.
