Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Track:
The learning activities in the infectious disease prevention and control track are intended to provide the basic preventive medicine competencies and added expertise in population level control of infectious diseases. These experiences will provide the resident with experience at the state and county level and will prepare them to assume a leadership role in the control of infectious disease outbreaks, whether they are intentionally caused (through bioterrorism) or naturally occurring.

- 24 weeks of Infectious Disease Control and Public Health Preparedness
- 8 weeks of Chronic Disease Control
- 6 weeks of Maternal and Child Health
- 4 weeks of Environmental Health
- 4 weeks of Occupational Medicine
- 4 weeks of vacation
- 2 weeks of electives
