CHOICES: Family Physicians Treat Overweight Children
This project develops and pilot tests a group office visit model for treating overweight, predominantly Hispanic children, and their parents, in a 12-session intervention program.

TCM for TMD: A Multi-site Whole Systems Trial
This project tests whole system Traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture, herbs, tuina) for the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction in a stepped-care approach in comparison with a validated psychosocial intervention. The Phase II trial has a unique design to provide guidance on the best combination of psychosocial care with TCM to evaluate in the Phase III trial.

Primordial Prevention of Overweight in AI Children (PTOTS)
We propose a community-partnered randomized study to prevent early childhood overweight in American Indian (AI) children. A birth cohort of about 780 children from six Indian communities born over a period 18 months will be randomized by community to either a control (3 communities) or intervention condition (3 communities).

Preventing CVD in Native Populations: The Traditional Living Challenge.
This project, designed and implemented in full partnership with Salish Kootenai College, will develop and test a traditional lifestyle experience to enhance behavioral change with regard to cardiovascular disease risk factors.

This planning grant will pilot test a group office visit model for the clinical care of type 2 diabetes, and plan for a multi-clinic randomized trial.

Developing Patient-Centered Measures for Outcomes of CAM Therapies
This project will undertake secondary data analysis on qualitative interviews from CAM studies to identify natural language in regard to non-specific "transformative" outcomes, develop these into questionnaires, and fully evaluate the questionnaires in a multi-ethnic approach.
