Application Process

Applications are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) offered by the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Application Requirements:

Criteria for application to the 2008 intern class at the University of Arizona in Tucson are:

You must have

  1. graduated from medical school within the past 5 years
  2. a clear interest in Family Medicine
  3. minimum 6 month (IP or OP) U.S. clinical experience in primary care within the past two (2) years
  4. one letter of reference from a primary care physician in the U.S. who you have worked with
  5. a valid ECFMG Certificate
  6. passed the USMLE or COMPLEX (we do not screen by test scores)
  7. we are only able to accept ERAS applications and our deadline is Dec. 1, 2007

Application Deadline and Interview Dates:

Application deadline is December 1, 2007.   The application information is used initially by faculty to select individuals to interview whose goals and interests seem compatible with those of our program.   Please send this information as soon as possible as interview time fills sooner than the deadline date.

Interview season begins week of November 1, 2007, and ends January 31, 2008.  Interviews are conducted on Thursdays to provide applicants with the opportunity to participate in our Teaching Day session and to interact informally with our residents.
