Patricia Lebensohn, MD
Dr. Lebensohn is a board certified family physician that has additional training in psychiatry and family therapy. She received her medical degree from the National University of Rosario, Argentina in 1982. Dr. Lebensohn completed a psychiatry residency in Argentina in 1987 and a Family Medicine residency at St. Josephs Health Center in Syracuse, NY in 1993. She also has extensive training is family systems therapy.
She joined the FCM department in 1993 and has functioned in different roles, from co-director of the Behavioral Health Program for the residency to Associate Residency Program Director. She has been the Residency Program Director since 1999 and in 2004 became the Associate Head for Clinical Affairs.
As the residency program director, Dr. Lebensohn has been involved in creating options for a 4-year residency program. She helped develop the Sports Medicine Fellowship, directed by Steve Paul, MD at The University of Arizona Campus Health. She was part of the initial group of faculty in 6 different residency programs to establish a four year Integrative Family Medicine Program in collaboration with the Program in Integrative Medicine. A Masters in Public Health will also be an option for a 4-year residency program beginning in 2005.
Dr. Lebensohn continues to provide full spectrum family medicine including prenatal care and delivery. She has a special interest in maternal-child health, women’s health, behavioral health, integrative medicine and cross-cultural aspects of medicine.
She is bilingual, Spanish and English. Outside of Medicine, Dr. Lebensohn enjoys spending time and traveling with her family and competing in triathlons and practicing yoga.
